I am a web designer and developer

Working for a small design firm is a great way to diversify your skillset. For me, it meant I had the opportunity to push my web development skills. Life has taught me many times the value of learning from another person – working at Hemisphere Design and Marketing gave me that option. Bringing my skills as a graphic designer and eye for photography, I was able to learn to take sites from early stage design all the way to developed and launched websites. The following are a few of my best and favorite projects.

American Construction

Working with American Construction it was my job to design and develop a website that celebrates American Construction's 100+ years of caring and creating a family of workers, all while providing a safe working environment for it's men and women. I also got to photograph the company's projects, as well as the equipment and people that do the heavy lifting. This was definitely a unique and awesome experience. Where else would you get to board a crane tasked with dredging sediment, down to the inch, from Elliot Bay in Seattle! Stroll over to their website to learn more about this Tacoma based company and see the final product.

Griot's Motors

Working with Griot's Motors presented the opportunity to redesign and develop a fresh new website, including featuring a totally new part of the business, car detailing. My job role entails managing updates to the website, but also includes photographing cars for inventory and a daily shop-walk, photographing restorations in progress, and cars going through the process of detailing. I also work hands on with the business social media accounts.

Grit City Wellness

Grit City Wellness helps individuals maximize their health by using technology and a holistic approach to well-being. Designing a site that showcases the innovative tools and techniques, and the many services Grit City Wellness offers, was paramount to helping people understand their health in a new way. Photography was also a major component to creating a better understanding of these services. All in all working with Grit City Wellness was pretty darn cool, literally! Just look into the cryotherapy service.

KML Designer Finishes

Creating TFL products that are eco-friendly, on-trend and high quality is what KML Designer Finishes is all about. Designing and developing a website that delivered on KML's message of being environmentally friendly as well as being a space for fresh, modern inspiration, was an immensely purposeful endeavor. The website featured white space to bring a sense of modern minimalism, while photographs were less about capturing the process and more about green spaces and creative imagery. Although the site has morphed from it's original design, it is still a strong example of the marraige between Web design and Photography, of which I had a hand in both.
